Section I.  Overview/Summary:
The Mgr. External Reporting role will develop and enhance your skills and leadership through analysis of complex accounting topics, critical thinking, innovative use of technology and guidance of other team members.  This position leads a team that maintains all monthly and quarterly internal financial reporting, prepares our external SEC filings, and works closely with Senior Executive Leadership and Investor Relations to ensure optimal reporting to analysts and investors.   This role requires an energetic individual who proactively identifies and implements process and technology improvements, has a passion for accounting and reporting and has a desire to learn about wireless technology and the business.    
  1. Section II.  Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities
  • Manages a team of professionals; providing guidance to associates and focusing on talent development.
  • Manages the preparation of quarterly and annual SEC financial statements (10-Qs and 10-K).
  • Assists in the development of communications to analysts and the investor community. 
  • Manages the completion of monthly and quarterly financial internal reporting deliverables for Senior Executive Leadership.
  • Analyzes the financial statements of the company and develops a deep understanding of the wireless industry to ensure the proper application of accounting and relevance of key reporting and metrics.
  • Leads team in the preparation of GAAP financial statements for multiple partnership entities, including full scope financial statement audits.
  • Coordinates with external and internal auditors in conjunction with control and financial audit procedures. 
  • Researches GAAP literature to analyze technical accounting and reporting issues and develop solutions.
  • Formulates and administers approved accounting practices throughout the organization to ensure that financial and operating reports accurately reflect the condition of the business and provide reliable information necessary to control operations.
  • Represents Accounting on company initiatives and cross-functional teams; interacts with functional peers and/or other company management involving matters between functional areas or other company divisions.
  • Provides decision support information and analyses to senior management.
  • Participates in complex and unique accounting projects resolving a wide range of issues requiring creativity and practicality.
  • Manages issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends. 
  • Interprets and applies organizational and company policy; assumes ownership for escalated issues.
Section III.  Experience and Educational Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • CPA required; MBA a plus.
  • Seven plus years of accounting or finance experience with two plus years in supervision preferred.
  • Big 4 public accounting experience preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures. 
  • Experience working with or within a public company with SEC reporting and SOX control requirements preferred.
  • Broad experience and knowledge in all areas of Accounting/ Finance.
  • Strong PC literacy skills in a Windows environment with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Access and Word).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management and associates.

Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements

  • Normal office working environment.
  • Cyclical, unplanned and occasional substantial overtime required.
  • Light travel.
